    G. B, Isabel; CACERES ARANA; MOSCOSO, Norma  y  NAVARRO VASQUEZ, Pablo B.. Laparoscopic treatment of the inguinal hernia. Rev. Arte y Ciencia Medica [online]. 2005, n.7, pp. 18-21. ISSN 9999-8888.

In the laparoscopyc treatment of inguinal hernia three procedures were secured: The intraperitoneal boarding with the placement "onlay" of a mesh on the peritoneum (IPOM), the transabdominal preperitoneal plastia (TAPP) and entire extraperitoneal plastia (TEP). The advantages that the laparoscopyc surgery offers us are the reduction of the postoperative pain, and the reduction of the disability period. It also allows us the identification of a contralateral hernia not suspected and the respective repair. We made a retrospective revision from the subjected patients to surgical treatment of inguinal hernia among AprilI2000 to June/2004 in the "Cristo de las Americas Hospital". They were excluded of the present work the sick persons intervened in conventional form and the patients treatment by an extraperitoneal technical TEP. Of the alone whole of surgery carried out laparoscopyc the 3.1% corresponds to the laparoscopyc treatment of the inguinal hernia through transabdominal plastia. The all patients belonged to masculine sex, with an age average of 44 years. It could evidence that's in 4 patients the inguinal hernia was of the direct type, while the indirect inguinal hernia it presents in 10 cases. The surgical time average of the hospital stay it corresponded to 22 hrs. It was possible to make a pursuit until the 18 months of the postoperative one in 4 of the 12 patients surgically intervened without being possible to appreciate residiva signs come the TAPP. Is an procedure that requires of general anesthesia besides the use of specific laparoscopyc material, it has a smaller time of hospital demurrage and the subjected patients to this technique they didn't present intra or extraoperative significant complications.
