SANCHEZ FICANCA, Jorge Efraín; CAMPOS ZILVETTY, Jorge Alberto y BENITEZ ANIBARRO, EDGar. Diagnostic reliability in mediastinum esophagus pathologies through the Schieppati's needle. Rev. Arte y Ciencia Medica [online]. 2005, n.7, pp. 11-13. ISSN 9999-8888.
In 1949 Dr. E. Schieppati used a needle to puncture adenopatics of the mediastino for diagnostic and classifying cancer, tuberculosis, sarcoidosis, etc. We begin the experiment given the high positive results already demostated. What we looked for was to check the profitability it diagnoses for pathologies of the mediastino and esophagus by means of the transbronquial aspiratory punccion with Schieppati's needle wanting to spare him of other different procedures believing that this transbronquial aspiratory method, with Schieppati's needle offers us a high sensibility for the diagnostic of thoracic pathologies. In our study we carry out 46 punccions in the course of one year obtaining material for analysis in 98% of the cases with a profitability of 58.3%. The only complications were the one bled of short duration, stopping gradually without intervention. In none of the cases the procedure was suspended, finding that the risk is bigger in the mediastinoscopy what's mora the objective is not to compete with this procedure.
