BULA-MAGALLON, Roberto M  and  MENDOZA-GONZALEZ, Elisa A. Statistical Information Systems and Health Indicators. Revista Varianza [online]. 2022, n.19, pp. 2-16. ISSN 9876-6789.

Abstract The objective of this article is to describe the functioning and relevance of the statistical subsystems specifically in two important county regions in the country, for the production of health indicators. It's about making a reflection on the importance of these and the role played by statistics professionals in the development of statistical methodology from planning to the dissemination of results. A documentary methodology is used using as materials two monographic seminar reports as a graduation work option for students of the Bachelor of Medical Records and Health Statistics of the University of Panamá, who described the process, in three large phases, that takes carried out for the elaboration of two relevant health indicators in the country. The results are concretized in showing in a didactic and systematic way the different processes to generate statistical information, highlighting those facilitating aspects, as well as those that constitute barriers or limitations in the generation of statistical data.
