The antibacterial activity of macerated dried and fresh coca leaf (Erythroxylum coca Lam) from the cities of Cochabamba and La Paz is studied. Subsequently they prepared macerated with three solvents: Saline solution, Alcohol (absolute) and Chloroform. Mash antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa was then determined. Different alcoholic extracts were used to determine the antibacterial activity of coca leaf (Erythroxylum coca Lam) fresh and dry showed activity against Staphylococcus aureus. It has not been demonstrated antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa with the three solvents used. Different studies confirm the antibacterial action of coca (Erythroxylum coca Lam) in alcoholic solution prepared against Gram-positive bacteria.
