    Resumen

MENDIOLA LEDEZMA, JOSE MANUEL²  y  RICHARD AGUIRRE ROJAS, RICHARD³. Evaluación preliminar de la adición de moringa (Moringa oleífera) en la alimentación de pollos parrilleros1. Univ. Cienc. Soc. [online]. 2015, n.14, pp. 55-62. ISSN 8888-8888.

This research was being performed during 2014 at the Center for Agricultural Research dependent on the Department of Agricultural Engineering at the Christian University of Bolivia (UCEBOL), which is located at km. 11 on the road north in the province of Warnes, in order to evaluate the response of broilers to the consumption of Moringa (Moringa oleifera) in the different stages in their normal diet and quantify variable of feeding intake, gain of body weight, feed conversion and mortality in chickens fed with moringa. 500 broilers Cobb BB line were used, divided into two separate batches, 50 m2 each, which were evaluated in three stages; Start (1-21 days), Development (from 22 to 35 days) and Final (from 36 to 49 days). The treatments were: conventional feeding and conventional feeding + ground moringa (1%). The design used was completely randomized with two treatments and 10 repetitions, each repetition was weighing on average 10 chickens. When including moringa in the feeding, an increased feed conversion was obtained. A lower percentage of mortality was obtai-ned in the chickens fed with moringa more than conventional chickens. However, both percentages are within acceptable mortality rates in the production of broilers.

Palabras llave : Moringa; Food; broilers.
