Summary The municipality of Pelechuco is located in the Franz Tamayo province of the department of La Paz, northwest of Bolivia, with a total área of 2758 km2 with a height that ranges between 3,810 to 4,500 meters above sea level, it houses more than 5,115 people within its limits. The most representative economic activities are mainly the livestock and agricultural sectors. In the región, the grazing economy is especially important, due to the existence of extensive grazing pampas, with herds of up to 450 - 600 alpacas. The results obtained on the economic potential in the municipality of Pelechuco, is characterized by its livestock production mainly, followed minimally by manufacturing and agricultural production. The Municipality of Pelechuco provides 22 billion of Gross Production Valué. The livestock sector contributes 96.98% (21,082,718.65 Bs). The main species that the municipality has are sheep. Llamas, Alpacas, Pigs and Bovines. Of which the main product of greater relevance is the Alpaca and its fiber. And within the communities, Hichocollo Alto stands out with 9771 heads of Alpaca and Hilo Hilo with 1347 heads of Llamas. Regarding the occupational group, of 100%, 42% focuses on livestock, forestry, and fishing workers and 100% of the economic activity, 77% is primary, 2.3% secondary and 20.7% tertiary.
