Summary The municipality of Ixiamas, it is located in the Abel Iturralde province in the northern Amazon región of the departaent of La Paz. The current use of land indicates that there are 82,750 Ha. Of which 50% are destined for livestock production. The main livestock activities of the municipality are: the production of broiler chickens 58.9% (71,029), followed by beef cattle with 29.3% (35,336), and free-range pigs 9.1% (10,939). Bovine production under extensive and semi-extensive systems is mainly destined for meat and to a lesser extent milk. The largest bovine production is in prívate hands (84%) compared to the producers of the municipal communities (16%). These data show that the municipality's livestock production potential is considerable.
