Abstract This article is developed on the agricultural potential of the municipality of Guanay, located in the Larecaja province of the department of La Paz. The municipality of Guanay has developed its economy based on different activities, one of the most important being mining, without neglecting agricultural activity, the municipality has a tropical and Andean climatic diversity, which allows the development of agricultural and livestock activities suitable for both climates. In the present work, the agricultural economic potential in the Guanay municipality was identified, which generates 65 million Gross Production Valué. Regarding the agricultural sector, it is also possible to identify a great variety of producís from rice, which represents the main agricultural product in gross production valué, followed by the production of coconuts, coffee, corn and cocoa. Livestock production characteristic of both climates, such as pigs, cattle, camelids and sheep, the camelid sector being the most important in the Andean sector, according to the Productive Development Bank and the Development Planning Ministry. The total number of llama heads is 18,635, which represents 53% of the total species that breed in the municipality. The communities that stand out in the field are: La Fabulosa, Pablo Amaya, Amaguaya and Ancestral Wila Kala Punku.
