Abstract The purpose of this document is to show the relationship between public spending by Departments in Bolivia and the Poverty Line. So far research on public spending has analyzed separately the variables spending and poverty, so it is considered important to analyze this relationship within the framework of the social policies thatgovern economic policy in Bolivia. The methodology applied in this research is descriptive, explanatory base don secondary information contained in the databases of the INE "National Institute of Statistics" and the Ministry of Economy and Public Finance in the period 2007-2016. On the other hand, a bibliographic review was carried out in order to structure the theoretical foundation and the state of the art of the subject. For the processing of information, statistical techniques were applied in the IBM SPSS 22 package. Initially, a graphic analysis of poverty and expenditure indicators was used to then apply a statistical model based on Spearman's structural correlation coefficient, which evidences a relationship among the variables analyzed, very low.
