Chocaya, a location inhabited since pre-Hispanic times, was very important in the colonial period for its mining wealth, which led to the occupation of many people between Indians, Criollos and mainly Spaniards. Towards the end of the eighteenth century (between 1780 and 1781) at Peru and Rio de la Plata viceroyalties, the great uprising of Indians was carried out against the abuses of the administrators of the Spanish government and the so-called "bad government". The protagonists who encouraged the population not to accept abuses were, for example, the Amarus leaded by Tupac Amaru II; and the Kataris who followed Tupac, Tomás, Damaso and Nicolás Katari; leaders already known in our historiography. This article aims to highlight one more uprising that was led by other actors known as the Balerianos, three brothers who were the vanguard at the uprising of the people of Chocaya.
