Abstract

The study visualizes the curricular reality of the teacher of the UMSA, it is the mirror where one can appre-ciate the weaknesses and strengths for the teaching function, establishes that the pedagogical competen-ce of the university teacher does not go hand in hand with the disciplinary competence, that a Diplomat course in Higher Education, is the only requirement to access the teaching function at present. Then, the content of the Scientific Article, identifies the causes of the pedagogical flaw in the higher education pro-cesses at UMSA and raises a new focus in the profile conception of the university teacher based on the balance of the pedagogical quality and the disciplinary quality hoping to promote, improve that quality and the correct management of sciences and technology development processes.
