    Abstract Study stress on teachers includes a process of reflection on the role of teachers, their socio-labor situation and their influence on the overall development of students, understanding them beyond the fulfillment of a school curriculum. The theoretical approach of this research sets a construct that provides historical and current approaches of scientific evolution of knowledge about stress, the methodology includes an investigation of non-experimental, descriptive transeccional, which is relevant understanding this as a first approach to the study stress in the teaching profession. The results allow us to evaluate a set of psycho-somatic manifestations of stress are expressed by teachers that make the study sample. It is this a pattern of research that displays the theme of stress in the teaching profession, allowing a set of relevant information and generating initiatives to expand the research framework in a matter of fundamental social importance for human development, which configures and looking understand one of the protagonist in the educational process.
