Abstract: The industry of video games and entertainment with cartoons, is growing day by day, is for this reason, the classification of skin in cartoons, which can be applied in this industry, to improve it, making an approach to human skin. The cartoon characters have different skin colors, from the yellow color as in the case of the "The Simpsons" program to having a more realistic color as the "Family Guy" program, after studying the image processing, it is say its operation and its programming. For this reason this work is aimed at classifying the skin of cartoon characters using videos, with the aim of demonstrating that even in animated cartoons it is possible to make the skin classification regardless of the color they use for the different programs of TV. The methodology is accompanied by pre-processing, noise elimination, morphological operations (erosion and dilation), pre-processing (cleaning) by applying the Matlab tool. The results show that the cleaning will never be perfect, since different color palettes are used in the cartoons.
