Abstract The water distribution company of the city of La Paz, distributes the service, regularly, but does not provide information about the quality of the water, such as purity and what área "dam" water comes from. For this reason this work aims to inform the purity of water according to some áreas of the city of La Paz, to carry out an analysis of its purity for human consumption, all this work with an economic tool. The present study was carried out with 38 water samples from different áreas of the city of La Paz (tap water and boiled water for each zone). The results obtained show that the water distribution in all zones have a "Basic Purity" rating. Is to say that the water distribution company has good control over quality.
