Resumen
VILLEGAS TABORGA, Sandra T.. Sociological approach to the definition of symbolic violence against children and teenagers: An approach to social and cultural practices in the family and the school. J. Com. Soc. [online]. 2017, vol.5, n.5, pp. 99-111. ISSN 2412-5733.
The symbolic violence is invisible; it reproduces itself through social and cultural practices in family and school as the main stages of patriarchal violence, prejudices, stereotypes and gender violence. The latest statistics about gender violence show the increasingly number of female children and teenagers as violence, murder and rape victims. It is common to talk about physical, sexual and psychological violence but rarely about symbolic violence. This article outlines some reflections about violence as an accepted symbolic value which is a part of the Bolivian society heritage.
