BROCKMANN S., Robert. The eyes of the world. From Mesa to Rodríguez Veltzé: the Bolivian crisis of 2005, seen through the international press. J. Com. Soc. [online]. 2015, vol.3, n.3, pp. 81-124. ISSN 2412-5733.
This article reviews the events that lead to the renouncement of president Carlos Mesa at midyear 2005. The process was followed with great interest by the international press. In this article, the most relevant news reveal the evolution of the protest, from the first limited demands, until their transformation into a clamor, whose dimension and intensity made unendurable the presidency of Mesa. The events compiled recount also the avatars that lead to the additional resignations of the presidents of the Senators and Deputies Chambers, and the possession of Eduardo Rodríguez Veltzé as the President of Bolivia. An elementary piece not only to remember with precision the complexity and the danger of that moment; but also, mainly, a piece that gives the keys to the present.
