Abstract

RIOS ESCALIER, Hernán César. HIV/AIDS in Bolivia: a continuing growing threat. Rev. Cient. Mult. Adas [online]. 2015, vol.6, n.3, pp. 106-109. ISSN 2309-3153.

The distribution of cases by department in the last report of the National Program of SIT / HIV / AIDS showed that 89% of the cases are distributed in the departments of Santa Cruz, Cochabamba and La Paz. The first case of HIV reported in the country was in the middle of 80 's, in fact in Santa Cruz's city. After that incident that caused a national alarm unfortunate the cases have gone increasing in uncontrolled way. In the other hand in the developed countries the pandemic has been controlled at the moment, in our country the oppo-site happens. Although the virus was not a very well-known retrovirus at the same time in the near future it would become into one of the viruses more studied by the worldwide virology.
