The main objective is to increase nut production in the valleys of Tarija through change of tree top in the royal crown grafts of Juglans by establishing Trompito mother, Chandler and Ramillete as part of breeding walnut plants. The methodology was to establish four experimental sites in growing communities such as walnut; Paicho Center, Paicho Sud, Sella Quebrada and La Victoria, where participatory research interaction, analysis and reflection was established with producers during the consolidation process of the parent plants from conducting grafts, monitoring and phenological record. The observed results is the high precocity in nut production presenting varieties Trompito and Chandler presenting walnuts characterized large to very large by producers, well-developed plants in their tree top except Ramillete not set on the tines placed in the four zones. Note that the mortality of grafts that is recorded in the trial apparently attributed to sap exudates observed in field visits. The conclusions at this early stage indicate that plants Trompito and Chandler show high precocity in production, with large nuts to very large in a maturing 120-day period, prompting the producer to continue in this process undertaken by the Program Forests of INIAF in Tarija.
