FLORES, Ana María; ROMERO, Sandra y IQUIZE, Edwin. Evaluación del porcentaje de germinación y sobrevivencia de accesiones de Capsicum spp. del Banco de Germoplasma del INIAF y la UMRPSFXCH colectadas entre 1983 y 1987 en el departamento de Chuquisaca. Info INIAF [online]. 2014, vol.1, n.3, pp. 68-78. ISSN 2308-250X.
The percentage of germination and survival of Capsicum spp. accessions from the Department of Chuquisaca were determined. Those materials were collected over 24 years ago which had to be regenerated and characterized as soon as possible. 62 accessions were used, 50 accessions belong to the Genebank of the National Institute of Agricultural and Forestry Innovation INIAF and 12 accessions to the Genbank of Real Pontifice San Francisco Xavier University (UMRPSFXCH). Seeds of each accession were seeded in Petri dishes under controlled conditions to ensure germination. The small plants were passed to the muticell trays by keeping them in environment acclimatization. After, plants of accessions were planted in the field with a density lm between plants and rows. The results showed that 53 accessions germinated (85%) of 62 accessions seeded in Petri dishes. The germination within every accessions were low (16%).This result can be the accessions have not been regenerated since the year of collecting (1983 and 1987 years). The survival plants on the field were 79%. The place for regeneration was acceptable where phonological cycle of plants will be completed until to obtain botanic seeds to conserve in the Genbank.
