Resumen

The present study reports the perception from farmers about their main crops and their main plant health problems in the community La Plazuela in the Municipality of Irupana (Sud Yungas Province-Dept. of La Paz). Results showed that mango is the most important crop and that its most important plant health problems are Fruit Fly (Anastrepha fraterculus Wied.) and Anthrachnosis of mango (Colletotrichum gloeosporioides Teleomorph Glomerella cingulata). It was evident that farmers of the community of La Plazuela have not received optimal technical assistance in the past, particularly regarding plant health. Consequently, their management of mango trees is not optimal either, not only from the perspective of management but also from the perspective of plant health.
