LISPERGUER, Grover et al. Composición, estructura y factores asociados a la abundancia de regeneración natural del bosque de neblina al Noroeste de Independencia - Ayopaya. Info INIAF [online]. 2013, vol.1, n.2, pp. 81-87. ISSN 2308-250X.
The objective of this study was to analyze the composition, structure and the factors associated to abundance of natural regeneration of native tree populations in the Northwestern zone of the municipality of Independencia. It was observed that the floristic composition of the arboreal stratum included 30 species from 13 families. The species with the higher Importance Value Index (IVI) were Podocarpus glomeratus, Styloceras columnare, Polylepis racemosa subsp. lanata and Ocotea sp. The general abundance of species found during the evaluation was 410 individuals·ha-1. The abundance of natural regeneration of all the species reached a total of 11135 individuals·ha-1. The were no significant differences in abundance of natural regeneration seedlings between intervened forest and less intervened forest. Humus depth was the only independent variable that could explain a larger amount of seedlings after performing multiple regression analysis (p=0.0156).
