Abstract

To replace agrochemicals that are used in a large extend, due to the pollution of water, earth, plants and animals, and also its presence in agricultural products that we eat every day. Then, it was evaluated the yield of Tahiti lemon trees in five different treatments with earthworms humus, and some of the fruit characteristics were also measured. Lemon plants of ten years old were studied, they were cultivated in an organic production system and irrigated during dry season only, in Casarabe, Beni, Bolivia. Humus was applied around the tree, at 10 cm deep and then covered with 10 cm of rice husk. Results showed significant differences in yield, with best performances at 6 and 8 kg/tree. In the other hand, the volume of juice, Brix degrees and pH of lemon fruits showed similar values in every treatment.
