ABSTRACT The fish communities structures and the optic condition adaptation are described, through the piscivory-transparency-morphometry (PTM) model from the perspective of metacommunity theory in the rivers and lagoons of the white and black water in Bolivia Amazon. The water types changed, indicating a possible geologic or vegetation origin pattern between white and black water valleys, also a geomorphologic pattern between the rivers and lagoons of white water valleys. Fish communities changed spatially according to the water types. The PTM model shows a better fit for species with small distribution and lesser fit for species with large distribution, indicating a balance between adaptation to the optic condition and dispersion. The higher taxas with higher diversity have the species of larger distribution and lesser phylogenetic control which are the dominant species in regional scale. These species having a largedistribution, probablyhavegainedadvantages in the trophic network. The applicability of the PTM model from the perspective of the metacommunity theory, suggests that the effects of predators on preys are not only the direct mortalities caused by them, but also the consequences of contra predator behaviors and the life history so that fish communities of different water types can coexist and coevolute.
