Abstract The work aims to establish an approximation to the status position ofwomen in careers in the area oftechnology, student andfaculty level, in the public university ofSan Andrés (UMSA) in the city of La Paz, Bolivia. The first part seeks an analytical approach to issues of gender, higher education and processes ofchange in education in Bolivia. Following is a description ofthe University with their respective careers in technology. Finally, we present the analysis and interpretation of data, which are the basis for recommendations for a better view of w omen as professionals and students in the public university ofSan Andrés.
