    Resumo

    The uncertainty in the estimate of the biomass, is one of the limitations to determine the flow of carbon in the forests of the Forest Bolivian Tucumano, for it, it was necessary to develop models to estimate the rates of production of biomass, in answer to the handling and use of the earth, for it, this investigation had the purpose of knowing the ecological and economic characteristics of the arboreal vegetation in the Experimental Station of River Shells, located to the south of the department of Tarija. For this made, they settled parcels of 0.25 there are, to lift trees with diameters between 10 and 39.9 cm (inferior classes) and a forest census was made in 135.9 there are for trees with diameter of more reference to 40 cm. (superior classes). Starting from the results dasométric it was determined that the distribution of frequency and basal area for hectare and for class diamétric, they present good adjustment with exponential models. The heights presented high levels of variability that it has required to make corrections with the logarithmic pattern being heights of 9.6 and 22.5 m. The dear air biomass was 137.9 t/ha, what means a content of carbon of 68.97 t/ha; where the species that contribute bigger quantities of air biomass are white Tipa, Cebil and Suiquillo. The revenues for the storage of carbon are $345/ha, $689/ha and $1379/ha for prices of $5/t, $ 10/t and $20/t. The value net present for a 100 year-old horizon is $2867/ha. With these values, it is important to diffuse the ecological characteristics of the EERC to enter in the market of the carbon, since it is the only market of environmental services that at the moment is operating and that he/she has a global reach.
