VISCARRA RIVEROS, Federico Ernesto et al. Economic and social effects of landlockedness in Bolivia. Revista de Análisis [online]. 2018, vol.28, n.1, pp. 157-200. ISSN 2304-8875.
Abstract Social and economic development of a country is affected, among other aspects, by geopolitical conditions that limit its insertion to the international context. For a landlocked developing country, as the case of Bolivia, trade relationship with other countries within the legal framework of the established commercial treaties is crucial, considering competitiveness as a variable of time and cost, which is determined by geographical location and an efficient access to international physical distribution. This research refers to the effects of landlockedness, analyzed through historical and statistical information, as tools to measure variables that affect the economic and social development of Bolivia.
