Mentoplasty is a procedure which seeks to achieve an increase or decrease in chin projection or correct alterations in form, through surgical procedures, the solé purpose of getting facial beauty and harmony, as the chin is one of the most striking elements of the face and decisively influences the facial balance. This needs to consider whether the patient is suitable or not to undergo mentoplasty. Generally appropriate patients for this surgery are individuáis with aesthetic alterations chin at the rate of congenital or acquired defects or senile patients. Physical examination, photographs of front and profile, and additional radiographs are very important to make a good facial analysis. Surgical procedures, taking account the feature anatomic alteration, could be: increase or elevation of the chin (prosthetic filler biomaterials are used), reduction (bone portion is remodeled by removing its excess) and correction of double chin (via liposuction). There is preoperative and postoperative care, the patient should be followed to avoid minor or major complications that can genérate the mentoplasty
