Plástic surgery of the lips or cheiloplasty, is a technique that aims to improve harmony, beauty and youth of the lips by increasing or decreasing the volume or changing their anatomy and in some cases have altered by congenital or acquired factors. Several types of cheiloplasties which include: corrective plástic surgery lip augmentation, reduction, and secondary labial plástic surgery. Among the implants used for chieloplasty we have silicone, autologous fat, collagen of human or bovine origin, the Gore-tex membranes, biopolymers hyaluronic acid and methacrylate. According to its duration in the body, the implants are classified as temporary, semi-permanent and permanent implants. The reduction by chieloplasty is related to procedures of tissue removal. While reconstructive or secondary surgery aims to correct alterations through the labial graft or prosthesis that best appearance. After surgery the patient must maintain a soft diet for about a week and apply ice to the área for three days, and should not make any kind of effort.
