ABSTRACT Cosmetic nose surgery or rhinoplasty involves reconstruction, modification, reduction or enlargement of the nose, through the application of surgical techniques, such as open and closed rhinoplasty, you have tore turn or reshape the anatomy of the region nasal, taking into account the breed and age of the patient. In all cases are ambulatory procedures, minimum risk, which requires the use of local anesthesia, since the operative time and recovery, short-term need. For a while rhinoplasty was oriented only to patients with disorders of congenital origin, without neglecting those cases where they occur, trauma and injuries of various kinds involving reconstruction or modification of this area, so in recent years was reached using a rhinoplasty procedure as a cosmetic nature, in order to provide a perfect esthetic appearance, based on the requirements of the patient. Complications that can occur in this type of surgery are rare, being able to mention surgical site infections, edema, bruising post surgery, residual headache, altered anatomy and psychological disorders.
