ABSTRACT Rhytidectomy or face lift is a cosmetic process that tries to reduce the signs of aging that highlight lines resulting expression of age and environmental factors. To perform this procedure you must know the anatomy of the face, which should be carefully examined to propose individualized treatment. The procedure requires local anesthesia infiltration, extending into deeper layers in the direction of reducing the sensitivity on the forehead and nearby tissues, due to the traction of skin and muscles after incision and removal of excess skin produce, in the coronal region or peripilosa patient giving the face a more youthful and wrinkle-free appearance. Traditional methods have been replaced in recent times by the technique, reducing complications and recovery time of the patient, which in either case is fast. The successful outcome of a cosmetic procedure is obtained when the signs of the operation are undetectable and normal anatomical patterns are not altered.
