    ABSTRACT Since antiquity, people have tried to mitigate the effects of aging, and sequelae of definitive lesions (scars, tattoos, etc.), in order to improve the appearance, for which different methods have been used, which have ranged from the use of sandstone, chemical topics and finally to the application of laser to achieve the desired effects. Dermabrasion is a chemical, mechanical or lighting procedure, which is used to reduce the marks produced on the surface of the skin and is intended to accelerate skin regeneration, it can be used in people over 17 years of age, with healthy skin and whom do not have any medical contraindication that limit the procedure. It is recommended in patients with acne scars, and when required aesthetically diminish wrinkles, being contraindicated in cases of recurrent herpes and active acne. Once procedure is planned, the patient will be recommended to quit smoking and avoid the sun, it is recommended special care and avoid physical efforts after the procedure.
