    Resumen

BUSTAMANTE C, Gladys  y  QUISBERT LARICO, Carlos. SECUENCIA DE PIERRE ROBIN (RS). Rev. Act. Clin. Med [online]. 2014, vol.46, pp. 2442-2446. ISSN 2304-3768.

The Pierre Robin sequence, is a series of processes in which the mandibular malformation found (micrognathia) is apparently responsible for the presence of subsequent clinical manifestations such as glossoptosis and cleft palate, which in turn will lead difficulties in occlusal dental growth and physiology as well as respiratory symptoms resulting from the obstruction of the posterior pharynx by the tongue which is displaced to this area. However, this type of sequence can be associated with other entities such as Stickley and velocardiofacial syndrome, finding conditions that are associated with the presence of the box as skeletal dysplasia, spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia, campomelic dysplasia, etc.. Although the clinical picture has micrognathia, and cleft palate glosoptisis, the presence of cyanosis, altered emission phonemes, pulmonary edema, vomiting, malnutrition and aspiration pneumonia, can lead to severe complications in children who present with the picture, requiring surgical correction of large-scale early, in order to preserve the quality of life of patients.
