ABSTRACT Rickettsia is a genus of bacteria that require intracellular environment to reproduce. There are eleven species of this group of microorganisms, of which three are the most relevant, rickettsiae: rickettsii, prowazekii and typhi. Rickettsiae are transmitted by arthropod vectors and produce a number of diseases such as spotted fever (tick-borne) typhus epidemic (louse is its vector ) , endemic or murine typhus (which transmitter is the flea). In the presence of rickettsial antigens, the human body expresses an immune response that involves the alteration of peripheral mononuclear cells with a reduction of circulating T lymphocytes. Several methods for immunological and molecular diagnosis in charge of determining the type of rickettsial disease, such as serological tests for proteins and rOmpB rOmpA,IFI, Western blot, PCR and RFLP.serological studies. The most serious of these microorganisms patients with no clinical signs and symptoms triggered abruptly in principle go unnoticed because they are not specific (fever , muscle aches , headache , malaise , etc.) , so you should determine the existence of additional clinical signs as the presence of lesions in the skin (rashes ) and scars in the inoculums.
