    Resumen

MOLLINEDO PATZI, Marcela Andrea  y  CARRILLO LARICO, Katerin Jhuly. Absorción, excreción y metabolismo de las vitaminas hidrosolubles. Rev. Act. Clin. Med [online]. 2014, vol.41, pp. 2146-2150. ISSN 2304-3768.

Water-soluble vitamins are water-soluble substances which are absorbed through the intestine and subsequently transported to the tissues via the circulatory system, mainly excreted in urine. This group described B-complex vitamins such as B1 or thiamine, B2 or riboflavin, B3 or niacin, B6 or pyridoxine, B9 or folic acid and B12 or cobalamin. Other water soluble vitamins are vitamin C or ascorbic acid. These vitamins can be found in different foods of both animal and vegetable origin. The daily intake amount is very important because the body itself not synthesizes them, so the body stores are insignificant. It is considered that their ability to somehow solubility is a disadvantage, because when washing or cooking food, they will lose some of their vitamins. For all these reasons vitamin daily needs should be met to prevent functional impairment of the organism in the short or long term.
