Abstract

CHOQUE HUANCA, Magda; SOSA TORDOYA, Luís F.  and  PAZ GARCIA, Magali N.. DETERMINACIÓN DE LA SENSIBILIDAD Y ESPECIFICIDAD DE LA PRUEBA DE IFI-ANA FRENTE EL ENSAYO INMUNOENZIMÁTICO PARA ANTÍGENOS NUCLEARES EXTRACTABLES (PERFIL ENA). Vis cienti. [online]. 2009, vol.1, n.2, pp. 17-22. ISSN 2222-4361.

The present study has determined the sensitivity and specificity of the test results of indirect immunofluorescence that measures antinuclear antibodies (FANA) compared to the results of the ELISA test that measure antibodies anti nuclear extractable antigens (ENA profile). The sensitivity found was 70.96%, specificity 85.87%, positive and negative predictive values of 77.88% and 80,85% respectively. We also determined the correlation degree between the results of both tests, for this purpose the Kappa index was used, which indicated tous that there was moderate correlation (index 0,58; p<0,005) between the results emitted by both tests. This fact is evident by the number of false positive and false negative FANA test results that have been obtained among 2000 and 2006. These results indicate that FANA screening test must necessarily be accompanied by laboratory tests of greater sensitivity and specificity, such as ENA profile, anti ds-DNA, etc. The abobe mentioned will allow for a better correlation between the laboratory and the clinicat of patient.

Keywords : ENA profile; antinuclear antibodies.
