Diabetic gastroparesis is a syndrome characterized by delayed gastric emptying in the absence of mechanical obstruction of stomach. The major symptoms are postprandial fullness (early satiety), nausea, vomiting and abdominal distension, although many patients remains asymptomatic. This condition has been linked to diabetes as the primary cause. Although this complication of Diabetes Mellitus is not considered a substantial factor to increase morbidity and/or mortality. It is important from the point of view of subsequent changes generated, such us the alteration in the absorption of oral medications by different mechanisms.
