    Abstract

    Abstract This paper shows the results of the technical study of grinding-classification circuit of the concentrator plant of the Colquiri Mining Enterprise to increase the treatment capacity of the plant. The study in terms of classification efficiency, circulating load andfocus on thefunctional performance characteristics of the SAG mill, has led to increase the treatment capacity up to 58.33 ton/hour. The metallurgical tests at laboratory and plant show the following results. The concentrator capacity increases significantly to 58.33 ton/hour when the grinding circuit classification works in open circuit with very specific parameters that were presented such as ore hardness, increased motor power of the SAG mill which prevents increase capacity treatment. Also, analysis of the results suggest that it is necessary to increase the opening of the lower screen of the duplex vibrator to 8 mm, while increasing the total area of the grate discharge inside the SAG mill to a size larger than 2 m2 in order to control the motor power of the SAG mill.
