Abstract
HINOJOSA CARRASCO, Octavio. Gravimetric concentration of ores of gold. Rev. Met. UTO [online]. 2016, n.38, pp. 38-50. ISSN 2078-5593.
The benefit of gold ores and precious metals generally assigns specific requirements to the practice of concentration: the causes are physical and geochemical properties or mineralogical properties of gold. Some of these properties are related to the granulometry of occurrence and shape of gold particles, rate of release and association with other types of mineral species. The basic minerals that compound the ore define the processing scheme. The mineralogical, chemical and metallurgical characterization is a preliminary step to the study of concentration, whose development is essential to getthe mostgold recovery. This article analyzes and considerate the most important aspects taken into account in the various techniques of benefit, these techniques are: gravimetric concentration, amalgamation, centrifugal concentration and flotation, considerations that take into account especially information from experience in dealing with different mineralogical gold ore characteristics and different techniques. The article also shows some typical flowcharts to treat primary source auriferous ores and ores of alluvial origin. Finally, some case studies are related
