    Abstract

VELASCO HURTADO, Carlos  and  VELASCO VILLARROEL, Javier. Effects of altitude in the combustion. Rev. Met. UTO [online]. 2014, n.35, pp. 20-29. ISSN 2078-5593.

Combustión processes are affected by the altitude of the location where they take place. Altitude above sea level exerts effects on both atmospheric pressure and temperature, also in the oxygen concentraron in the air and in the composition of this, affecting the combustión process in relation with the one which takes place at sea level under normal pressure. In this work the effect of altitude on air properties is studied, and how it influences the combustión parameters such as: fíame temperature, the fuel utilization factor, burning rate and its impact on the speed of deflagration and thermal combustión power.

Keywords : Combustión; altitude; air excess; air composition; fíame temperature; thermal power.
