    Resumen

NERI PEREYRA, Juan Pablo. Quinoa, community and capitalist relations in the Bolivian southern highlands. Estudios Bolivianos [online]. 2017, n.27, pp. 147-167. ISSN 2078-0362.

Abstract This article exposes the results of my research "Quinoa and Peasantry: Capitalist articulation in a Bolivian rural context", from afielé work carried out in the municipality of Salinas de Garci Mendoza and the community of Rodeo, located in the Province of Oruro, Bolivia, between the months of August and November 2016. This research analyzes, from the perspective of political economy, the articulation of the peasantry of the Bolivian southern highlands in global capitalism, based on a commodity approach on. In it, I show how the rural populations of the southern highlands articúlate themselves to the larger economic system, at different times or junctures, giving rise to economic, political and social transformations as well as contradictions. In this article, I present and analyze these transformations and the process of commodification in the light of the Marxist economic anthropology of William Roseberry (1976; 1989), Eric Wolf (1955; 1971) and Sidney Mintz (1996) among others.

Palabras llave : Quinoa; economic anthropology; Marxism; commodification; peasantry; capitalist relations.
