    Abstract

    Abstract This paper focuses on the Spanish writer Eloy Perillán Buxó (1848-1889), an unknown (although prolific) writer and thrill seeker that fixed his residence in La Paz during afew months in the year 1877. The purpose of this work is not only to analyze Buxó's projects (most of them failed) in the Andean city but also to understand how this character represents the Hispano-American literate culture in the second half of the 19th century.
