Abstract The article is part of a research about Catalina de Erauso. It present the story of ten women from the colonial period who dressed in "menswear" for different reasons. The information comes from chronicles of the period and archival documents. With the particularities of each one, we can see, in the events reported, a political construction of the body; in the discursive forms, we can see also forms of silencing but also of resistance from voices that emerge from the manuscripts and that deny the will to forget.
