VALDEZ RODRIGUEZ, Juan F.. STUDY PREFEASIBILITY FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF A METHANOL PLANT FROM DRY METHANE GAS IN THE PROVINCE CARRASCO AT DEPARTMENT OF COCHABAMBA. JBC [online]. 2017, vol.13, n.39, pp. 6-21. ISSN 2075-8936.
The project aims to make the study pre-feasibility for implementation a petrochemical plant of methanol from dry methane gas of Carrasco, forwhich a descriptive research wasconducted based on qualitativeand quantitativedata. The market study identified thatthe main market for the commercialization of methanol produced in Bolivia, will be mainly directed towards the countries of South America to offset the déficit METHANEX delivery; due to unmet demand growth for methanol and its deriva tives in the chemical industry. Likewise engineering project identified that the productive capacity of the plant will reach 450,000 tons /year growth paths. The tech-nologytobeusedintheprocesswillbeLurgi MegaMetanol, itwasalso determined that the transportationof methanol ismadethrough tankers and pipeline networks in the country. Whereasthe economicevaluation of the plant established a Capital Expenditure CAPEX = 589.12 MM $ usand Operating Expenditure OPEX = 205.51 MM $ us, the financial evaluation found an TIR = 20% and a ratio Benefit/Cost = 1.29 and has concluded the project is viable. The project will exploit the potential of natural gas as a petrochemical feedstock to generate new economic resources and contribute tothe policy of consolidating itself as "Country Energy".
