FLORES RAMOS, Janeth Liliam et al. ORAL PAPILLOMAS: A SIMULTANEOUS PRESENTATION OF A MULTIFOCAL EPITHELIAL HYPERPLASIA AND SQUAMOSUS PAPILLOMA IN A YOUNG PATIENT OF THE UNIVALLE LA PAZ DENTAL CLINIC. Rev. Inv. Inf. Salud [online]. 2017, vol.12, n.29, pp. 05-12. ISSN 2075-6194.
The oral papilloma are benign lesions caused by the human papiloma virus, which infects the basal epithelial cells ofthe skin and mucous membranes. Oral lesions caused by human papilloma virus infection include squamous papilloma, verruca vulgaris, condyloma acuminata, and multifocal epithelial hyperplasia. We present the case of a 16 year old patient with oral papilloma with a simultaneous presentation of squamous papillomas at the tongue level and a multifocal epithelial hyperplasia in the labial and retrocomisural mucosa. The therapeutic management was carried out in the chair of Oral Surgery in the operating room ofthe Dental Clinic of the Universidad del Valle La Paz. The professional of the health area should be familiarized to identify the oral papilloma in order to avoid infections or contamination to other sectors of the oral cavity, and to carry out the opportune treatment.
