Abstract

Apple tree, Malus domestica, is native from Southwest Asia and the Eastern región of Europe. Currently, it is dispersed in several world regions with températe climate. Throughout history, about 7.000 varieties have been grafted until today. The apple fruit is appreciated not only for being a widely tasted fruit, but also for its many benefits, such as: the process of blood purification, episodes of diarrhea and poor digestión, among others. In this article the active ingredient of the fruit of the apple tree and its applicability in health is described.
