Helicobacter pylorus (H pylori) is a spiral or S shaped bacterium that is in the lining of the sto-mach, causing stomach and duodenal damaged tissue, also inflammation and ulcers. The disco-very of Helicobacter in 1982 and its clinical impli-cation in gastrointestinal diseases has been con-sidered one of the main findings of gastroenterology. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has demonstrated the association betwe-en Helicobacter pylori infection and gastric cancer. Although there has been a general decline in the incidence of this cancer is still the fourth most common type and the second leading cause of cancer death worldwide. Helicobacter affects about two thirds of the world population and its prevalence is strongly related to socioeconomic conditions. In developing countries, it affects more than 80% of adults in contrast with 20% in developed countries
