ORSOLINI C, José L  y  ARDAYA Z, Mireya. Combined regional spinal anesthesia with bupivacaine, fentanyl and morphinein lower abdominal surgery. Rev. méd. (Cochabamba) [online]. 2016, vol.23, n.1, pp. 24-29. ISSN 2074-4609.

Abstract The use of opioids in anesthetic practice is still limited because of adverse effects of these compounds. It is the reason that motivated us to conduct this study with the use of two types of opioids (morphine and fentanyl). Objective was to evaluate the efficacy of spinal anesthesia with a combination of fentanyl and morphine in patients undergoing lower abdominal surgery. No hemodynamic changes, the analgesic effect and occurrence of adverse effects. A prospective study was conducted with 100 patient's gynecological, urological and general surgery who met the criteria for inclusion in the Hospital Obrero No. 2 CNS. Results shows hemodynamic changes that presented the patients were in normal ranges, an EVA analgesia 3 to 12 hrs and more frequent nausea (19%) and pruritus (14%). We conclude that the combined spinal anesthesia with heavy bupivacaine 0.5 morphine and fentany more low abdominal surgery provides greater benefits relative to conventional spinal anesthesia (bupivacaine-fentanyl).
