PENALOZA VALENZUELA, Juan José; TORRICO APONTE, William Alexander; TORRICO APONTE, Edgar  y  TORRICO APONTE, Mario Luis. PLACENTA ACCRETA: PRENATAL DIAGNOSIS BY DOPPLER ULTRASONOGRAPHY IN THE MATERNO INFANTIL "GERMÁN URQUIDI" 2007 y 2008. Rev. méd. (Cochabamba) [online]. 2010, vol.21, n.1, pp. 46-52. ISSN 2074-4609.

We performed a prospective, analytical, longitudinal study involving 101 patients who entered the HMIG with risk factors to develop placenta accreta during 2007 and 2008. The Doppler study was performed seeking the following goals: Establish its usefulnes in the prenatal diagnosis of such pathology, by determining its sensitivity and specificity, also the most frequent placental location and major complications presented. Its variables were maternal age, parity, gestational age, risk factors sonographic signs of accretism, There was an incidence of placenta accreta of 0.083 %, more frequent in the 25 to 34-year age group and in multigravida patients, all with a history of : or more previous caesarean sections, also presenting a 75 % occlusive total placenta previa  There were found sonographic signs of placent; accreta by 50% within 34 and 36 weeks of gestatior   Having the Doppler ultrasound for the antenatal diagnosis of such pathology, 87.5 % of sensitivity 98.92 % of specificity, positive predictive value of 87.5% and negative predictive value of 98.92%. Concluding that the antenatal suspicion of accretism by Doppler ultrasound, allows a multidisciplinar surgical medical management, thus contributing ti a successful treatment, of low cost and with minima maternal and fetal complications.
