Abstract

NAVARRO MORALES, Joaquín. TRATAMIENTO INTERVENCIONISTA PARA DEFECTOS CARDIACOS CONGENITOS. EXPERIENCIA PRELIMINAR. Rev. méd. (Cochabamba) [online]. 2009, vol.20, n.30, pp. 61-67. ISSN 2074-4609.

In order to resolve the high incidence of congenital heart disease, over the last twenty years there have been great surgical improvements and in the design of percutaneous devices for the correction of congenital cardiac defects. We describe the details in the non surgical occlusion of persistent ductus arteriosus in 14 and atrial septal defects in 5 cases. These are the first devices implanted in our country, being an alternative to surgical correction, at a reasonable cost, short admisión time, abscence of a surgical scar and early rehabilitation of the patients.
