CAMACHO F., Wenddy M.; SANABRIA CANDIA, Feedor and CORRALES F., Marco Antonio. VARIACIONES DE LA GLUCEMIA CON EL ACTO ANESTÉSICO EN EL PACIENTE PEDIÁTRICO. Rev. méd. (Cochabamba) [online]. 2007, vol.18, n.28, pp. 11-15. ISSN 2074-4609.
The pediatric patient presents bigger risk of developing modifications in the values of the glicemia, with tendency to the hypoglycemia in the preoperative and hiperglucemia in the transoperatorio, being related with the time of fast preoperative, the grade of surgical estrés, the age, the duration of the procedure and the same anesthetic technique. The main objective of the work was to determine the grade of modification of the values of the glicemia pre and transquirúrgica during the anesthetic act in the pediatric patient. The study was carried out in 40 subjected pediatric patients to procedures with associate anesthesia general or not to conductive anesthesia, smaller than 10 years. It was determined the base Glicemia, the glicemia preoperative and the glicemia post operative. He/she took as variables the age, the time of fast preoperative, the type of anesthesia, their duration and the type of used solution. Of the results: bigger tendency was observed to the hipoglicemia in the children smaller than 3 years, with fast lingering preoperative. Important increments were observed in the group that DSA 5% transoperative, in direct relationship with the anesthetic time.
